I picked this book because it looks interesting and its an adventure. He is searching for the person predestined to be his dragonkeeper. There was so much history before his time in captivity and subsequent escape with Ping, I was expecting a great journey to be told within the pages of Dragon Dawn and instead I found what is mostly the diary of a few days of travel.ĭragon Dawn is a good story that could have been made great with a little more time and effort… and a great many more pages of Danzi's history thrown in. eeper The book I am writing my report on is the Dragon Keeper by Carole Wilkinson. Kai is 465 years old - a teenager in dragon years. The story, such as it was, was written well, but I would have preferred more to have been written about Danzi. It feels almost as if the author was trying to fill space at the end of the book to make the story look and feel longer than it is and after having read Dragonkeeper I expected more from its prequel. It is a good idea and I found it informative, but having so much of the book filled with this general information takes away from the story itself. The book is about a slave girl and a dragon, who travel through China to reach the ocean, carrying a purple dragonstone with them and encountering many dangers on their strange quest, and journey of friendship and self discovery. Each must learn to help and understand the other if they are to survive. A good portion of the book is not actually the story at all, but is a reference guide called the Dragon Alphabet, which tells some of the history of Dragons in China. Chased by an evil dragon hunter and a powerful sorcerer, their adventure is not easy. Wilkinson captured the true essence of adventure and. While I enjoyed the story it seemed to be only a small fraction of what it could have been. The author presents a unique setting and challenging characters for the reader to experience and enjoy. Here is a quick description and cover image of book Dragon Dawn (Dragon Keeper, 0.5) written by Carole Wilkinson which was published in January 1, 2007. I must admit to being disappointed with Dragon Dawn. Brief Summary of Book: Dragon Dawn (Dragon Keeper, 0.5) by Carole Wilkinson.
